Two 2-Day Colour Harmony workshops with Jane Blundell
Jane is a highly regarded Australian artist, teacher and author with over four decades of experience in painting and art education. Well known for her mastery of colour, Jane has the ability to capture places and moments through vibrant and sensitive studies.
Join Jane in either or both of her two-day workshops, suitable for all levels of experience.
The focus will be on the selection and use of colour, as inspired by our location, the stunning south coast of Wellington. The workshops will combine studio time, with outings on location, observing, drawing and gathering resource material.
Be prepared to be challenged and enlightened, in a friendly and encouraging teaching environment.

2 One-Day workshops with Deb Clarke
Deb is a popular and very professional tutor who will give you valuable learning in an engrossing, enjoyable session. Each one-day workshop you will learn the techniques of using lots of water and granulating pigments to create the texture of fur or feathers in any watercolour. The paper and granulating pigments will be supplied.

Fearless Drawing with Andrew James
- Fearless Drawing with Andrew James on Saturday 11 April 10am am – 4.30pm
In his humorous and energetic teaching style, Andrew James presents an
achievable way to draw confidently and quickly.
This workshop takes you from doodling to drawing scenes. We discuss line
quality, do a few drawing exercises, work out what makes a drawing interesting
and discuss depth without worrying about the rules of perspective.
Using a simple approach, we’ll bring our drawings to life with colour.
Suitable for absolutely anyone. I have had complete beginners to professional artists in the past, and everyone has gotten something out of it.
Bring an A4 visual diary, waterproof pen, and watercolours if you have them. Also, bring anything else you’d like to draw with.

Learn to paint Watercolour at ThursArt with Charlotte
This block course of 8 hours tuition over 4 weeks costs $100, including materials for beginners.
Each session includes watercolour technique and a step by step instruction to complete a painting in the two hour session. There is always new lesson material for this block course each week. Charlotte uses an overhead camera projected onto a wall mounted 55 inch TV for easy viewing and social distancing.
All levels are welcome to come and make art in our friendly clubrooms. Bring your own paints and brushes and two sheets of A4 300gsm good quality watercolour paper each week. ( I recommend Hahnemule )
If you are a beginner I will loan you the kit, which consists of palette, brushes and paint and advise you what to buy at the end of the course. But you will need to bring your own 300gsm watercolour paper.
Tutor Charlotte Hird is a watercolour artist who teaches for Watercolour New Zealand, at Wellington Art Club and Wellington High School Community Education, Inverlochy Art School and various other locations.

No refund will be payable for withdrawals less than 48 hours prior to commencement. Refunds for earlier withdrawals will be at the club’s discretion but will incur an administration fee of not less than 25% of fees paid.
