Wellington Art Club Workshops in 2025
Interest in workshops and courses is high. Withdrawals can result in courses being cancelled, other members missing out and a financial loss to the Club. No refund will be payable for withdrawals less than 48 hours prior to commencement. Refunds for earlier withdrawals will be at the club’s discretion but will incur an administration fee of not less than 25% of fees paid.
Learn to paint watercolours at ThursART with Charlotte
27 February and 6/13/20 March 2025 2-4pm or 7-9pm
This block course of 8 hours tuition over 4 weeks costs $80, including materials for beginners. Held at the Wellington Art Club rooms at 27 Chelsea Street, Miramar, Wellington.
Each session includes watercolour technique and a step by step instruction to complete a painting in the two hour session. There is all new material for this block course. Charlotte uses an overhead camera projected onto a wall mounted 42 inch TV for easy viewing and social distancing.
All levels are welcome to come and make art in our friendly clubrooms. Bring your own paints and brushes and two sheets of A4 300gsm good quality (100% cotton) watercolour paper each week.
If you are a beginner I will loan you the kit, which consists of palette, brushes and paint and advise you what to buy at the end of the course. You need to bring your own 300gsm watercolour paper.
Tutor Charlotte Hird – a watercolour artist who teaches at Wellington High School Community Education and Inverlochy Art School and various other locations.

2-Day Outdoor Painting Workshop Keeping it Simple with Andrew James

Learn a straightforward and practical approach to drawing and painting outdoors with pen and watercolour. Andrew is an enthusiastic and empowering teacher with heaps of ideas for making your life easier when painting on location.
Delivered with energy and humour, this workshop is suitable for everyone: Beginners with no idea where to start, intermediate painters who are freaked out about painting in public and experienced painters who want to level up their work.
Topics covered: Values, composition, getting to know your paints, planning, working out what matters and what to do when you don’t like your painting.
Bring your usual painting kit, a sunhat and a packed lunch for a fun and informative weekend.

Transformative Art Workshop Connecting with Nature with tutor Miranda Munro
Saturday 8 March 2025 10am - 1pm
This intuitive art workshop will celebrate our intimate relationship with the natural world. We ARE nature, our minds, our bodies, everything on earth is totally integrated in universal consciousness.
Using mixed media techniques, we will create works exploring our connection with a natural life force- an animal, a plant, a river, and what their energy and way of being can show us.
